TheSuperior Court of California, County of Glenn is pleased to announce that Judge Donald Cole Byrd has been appointed by Ronald M. George, Chief Justice of California, to the state wide Interim Trial Court Budget Working Group.

The Working Group’s primary purpose is to establish policy for the trial courts statewide, on the preparation, development and implementation of the Judicial Branch Budget. Judge Byrd was selected to represent the collective interests of the trial courts statewide by bringing his expertise from the local area court’s perspective and to represent the interests of courts of similar size and funding levels.

Judge Byrd’s appointment will become permanent once the Judicial Council formalizes the Working Group in December. Judge Byrd has also been appointed by the Chief Justice as a Special Master for the Commission on Judicial Performance and the Attorney General’s Public Safety Official’s Home Protection Advisory Task Force.
